Draft #1

Today we were to have our first drafts in for our "I Believe Essay", but i have not still chosen a topic to write about, I spent all weekend trying to think about and decide what i would write about in my "I Believe essay". The fact of the matter is I don't know what I believe in or I just don't know what to write about what i believe.

NOTE TO SELF; Ask for some ideas on a topic when you get to class.

I'll say. just think in something that its really important for you, that inspire everything that you do in live. you'll see that you're going to find it. its not that hard.

My first question is: what sort of pre-writing strategies are you trying? Here's a few ideas besides the typical brainstorming and mind-mapping:

- Browse the categories of essays from the "This I Believe" site. See if you have any strong beliefs in those categories.

- Think of all the sources of beliefs we listed in class (family, school, church, etc.). Think of strong beliefs you inherited from these groups. (Or think about beliefs people in these groups hold, and whether you agree with these or hold other beliefs.)

- Think of things that annoy you and identify the belief that causes you to be annoyed.

- Think of an interesting event in your life and see if you can use it to show a belief.
